Time in Penrose runs 3:1--that is, three days in real life equate to one day in Penrose. However, that makes it difficult to celebrate things like birthdays and holidays. Penrosians are aware that time passes oddly on their little world, and so they've set up a system rather akin to a world clock. The calendar above shows the date as observed in Disney Castle, which is basically Kingdom Hearts HQ, and then the date on Penrose is superimposed in the grey bar. Time does not feel as though it is passing more slowly in Penrose, anymore than flying east makes you actually lose hours, and native Penrosians do not celebrate every holiday that may be observed elsewhere, but for those who wish to keep track of time passing at a more regular rate, your Elo will show both Penrose and standard time calendars.
tl;dr - Penrose time is weird, but if you want to celebrate a holiday or your character's birthday/anniversary/etc, you are more than welcome to do so in accordance to 'real' time, and it won't be weird. |
